Nutanix Embraces Udacity to Offer the Nanodegree Hybrid Cloud Program
Cloud computing company Nutanix announced a partnership with Udacity, a global online learning platform, to present the Hybrid Cloud Nanodegree program.
This latest program will increase learning opportunities in the field of cloud technology that is gaining popularity and plays an important role for companies that want to improve their IT infrastructure.
As part of this collaboration, Nutanix will also sponsor 5,000 scholarships to help IT professionals improve their knowledge.
In this era, more and more services are moving to the cloud. The IT team certainly requires knowledge and expertise to properly manage the hybrid model infrastructure, both in the corporate and public cloud environments. Although hybrid cloud technology continues to grow, the opportunity to study this field is still stagnant.
The latest Nutanix’s Enterprise cloud Index survey says 85% of respondents admit hybrid cloud is the ideal IT operating model. However, 32% of respondents reported that hybrid cloud skills in their company were still lacking.
To fill this knowledge gap, Udacity and Nutanix collaborated to develop a Nanodegree program that can enhance the knowledge of experienced IT professionals. To strengthen professional development in this field, the Nanodegree program will include learning about modern private cloud infrastructure and hybrid application implementation design.
Ideal participants are those who manage traditional business applications, legacy infrastructure, or cloud-native applications in public cloud infrastructure.
"One of our main goals at Nutanix is to ensure that cloud technology professionals can continue to innovate in this emerging field of expertise," said Wendy M. Pfeiffer, CIO at Nutanix.
"We are delighted to be working with Udacity to develop the Hybrid Cloud Nanodegree program, and currently open access for thousands of leading cloud professionals through a scholarship program."
To ensure that all participants who wish to increase knowledge in the cloud environment have the opportunity, Udacity opens registration for the Nutanix Hybrid Cloud Scholarship program. As a first stage, Udacity will choose 5,000 registrants to participate in the Hybrid Cloud Fundamentals course. Of that number 500 outstanding participants will be screened who will receive full scholarships for the Hybrid Cloud Nanodegree program.
"At Udacity, we strive to empower professionals with the most sought after skills in the future," said Gabe Dalpotro as CEO of Udacity.
"We are pleased to work with Nutanix, a pioneer and leader in the field of cloud computing, to create this new and important Hybrid Cloud Nanodegree program."
The Nanodegree Hybrid Cloud Program will focus on four areas of study:
- Modern Private Cloud Infrastructure: Learn how to configure and manage hyperconverged infrastructure clusters, provide scalable, distributed storage, network and compute fabric, for virtual machines and more advanced services.
- Hybrid Cloud Application Design: Study the evolution of workload management and hybrid cloud design for multiple infrastructures.
- Automating Private Cloud: Creating scalable web applications and lifecycle operational models with governance that support self-service workloads on demand (on-demand) in a corporate environment (on premise) with controlled costs and within the budget.
- Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure Designing: Study the concept of public cloud, manage hybrid workloads, and encourage workload balance on a global scale.
